It can be installed on the client machine for single user deployments but is most often installed on a dedicated machine in multi-user environment. It is a required application to run your Ansys software. You may have to configure the server firewall to open these ports.The Ansys network license manager/server is a stand alone application that hosts your license file and checks in and out licenses to one or many users over a network. These are set by default to 2700 on the SERVER and VENDOR lines of the server's license file. The client machine must be able to make TCP connections to the ports on the license server machine on which the license server processes are listening. Please note that with this configuration, the $SCHRODINGER/licenses directory will need to be modified when installing any new release. Our tools will install licenses in the release-independent location by default (if permissions allow), but you can manually move the client file (it will have a 80_client* prefix) to $SCHRODINGER/licenses so it is accessible to all machines which mount that filesystem. opt/schrodinger/licenses on Linux) because the latter usually is a local filesystem. If your license administrator has given you a 'stub' license file suitable for installation on client machines, install it via " Add Licenses ". Linux: $SCHRODINGER/utilities/configure. Windows: Start → All Programs → Schrodinger- release → Configure Software.
